PNC 120 - Gerontology for the Practical Nurse Prerequisite: Admission to the Practical Nursing Program. HES 113 and HES 129 with a ‘C’ or higher or BIO 201 and BIO 202 with a ‘C’ or higher.
Corequisite: PNC 101 , PNC 110
Description: Gerontology for the Practical Nurse is a 3 credit course designed to explore issues related to the aging adult using the nursing process as the organizing framework. Also discussed are the impact of ageism, alterations in physiological and psycho-social functioning, and the role of the practical nurse in caring for older adult clients.
Credits: (3) Lecture Hours: 3 Notes: This course will be retired in the Fall 2018-19 academic year.
