EDU 285 - Elementary Math Methods


Prerequisite: Admission to Post-Baccalaureate EDU program or permission of Dean of General Education

Description: The course supports elementary math educators in understanding how children conceptualize mathematics in grades K-8. A variety of instructional strategies will review best practices for teaching math concepts through problem solving, reasoning, application, and other currently accepted effective trends in instruction. The course will empathize the importance of formative and summative assessment in lesson design.
