The Associate of Arts in Social Studies prepares students for transfer to a university and those wishing to transfer to four-year institutions will have the academic foundation applicable to various career fields (listed below). Courses should be selected with the assistance of a student services specialist. For more information regarding the Social Studies, AA, see the Liberal Arts webpage.

For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a C or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution. It is the responsibility of each student to meet with his/her assigned student services specialist on a regular basis for course scheduling so that the requirements for the chosen degree plan are being met as well as specific coursework needed for transfer to a four year program, if desired, can be incorporated.
