Practical Nursing (PN) Certificate (PNC)

The Practical Nursing program is a program designed to prepare students with prior health care experience (such as Certified Nursing Assistants or experienced Medical Assistants) to function as members of the health care team under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician and/or registered nurse in a variety of health care settings. Students gain understanding of physiological, psychological, pathological, and basic nursing care needs of medical surgical patients across the life span, pregnant and post-partum patients, neonates, infants, and children while maintaining a safe environment for patients and their families. 

Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the graduate receives a certificate of proficiency and is eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN). Upon successful passage of the NCLEX-PN, the graduate is eligible to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Arizona. The Practical Nursing program is located off of the Neal Campus at: Detroit Avenue Center, 1801 Detroit Avenue, Kingman, AZ 86401.

Requirements for Graduation: Passing all core nursing courses with a “C” grade or better. Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.

Admission Requirements

Complete program admission package and health requirement forms. Must be a certified nursing assistant or equivalent (with Director/Faculty approval).
