NUR 102 - Nursing Essentials Prerequisite: Admission to the Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing program. In addition, an acceptable score on reading placement exam or successful completion of PCS 021 and acceptable score on math placement exam or successful (S) completion of PCS 023 .
Corequisite: NUR 101 & NUR 103
Description: This course provides students with the theory and skills necessary to provide safe, quality care to clients. This includes physiology, psychological, and basic nursing care needs with a focus on long-term care environments. Application of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors occur in the nursing skills laboratory, Simulation Center, and various long-term care facilities.
Students are required to submit an Arizona DPS card, Pre-Check, two step tuberculosis (TB) test, and a CPR card from an American Heart Association approved organization. Upon acceptance students will be required to submit to a drug screen.
