NUR 102 - Nursing Essentials Prerequisite: Admission to the Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing program. In addition, multiple measures discussion, or appropriate score on placement exam, or completion of PCS 021 and PCS 023 .
Corequisite: NUR 101 & NUR 103
Description: This course provides students with the theory and skills necessary to provide safe, quality care to clients. This includes physiology, psychological, and basic nursing care needs with a focus on long-term care environments. Application of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors occur in the nursing skills laboratory, Simulation Center, and various long-term care facilities.
Students are required to submit an Arizona DPS card, Pre-Check, two step tuberculosis (TB) test, and a CPR card from an American Heart Association approved organization. Upon acceptance students will be required to submit to a drug screen.
