Paramedic Emphasis, AAS (EMSD)

Students in EMS course

The Associate of Applied Science with a Paramedic Emphasis is a continuation of the Paramedic certificate program. For those already employed in the Paramedic field, the program provides a skills and practice review which can result in professional growth opportunities. Students who wish to participate in the Paramedic Certificate portion of the Paramedic Emphasis, AAS, must be 18 years of age or older, be a currently certified EMT, and have one-year of pre-hospital documented experience in order to meet the application prerequisites. Students are encouraged to complete the AAS core or elective requirements while obtaining the required prerequisites for the Certificate Program. 

Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
