The Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology provides training in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding-Gas Shielded, Flux Core Arc Welding-Self Shielded, and Thermal Cutting Processes. Students who complete the Welding Technology, AAS, will be prepared for certification testing in specific welding codes such as AWS D1.1, API 1104, and ASME Section IX. The Welding program is located on the Neal Campus in Kingman.
Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
Effective June 4, 2013, this program has changed as follows:
- Welding Elective Requirements were reduced from 38 credits to 32 credits.
- Total Degree Credits were reduced from 89-90 credits to 83-84 credits.
