The Assisted Living Caregiver Program is a 104 hour non-credit program that teaches the skills and knowledge necessary to work as a caregiver in an Assisted Living Facility or private home. Topics covered address the care of the cognitively impaired resident as well as basic caregiving, restorative services, and medication management. The Assisted Living Caregiver Program is designed to prepare the student for the Caregiver Certification Examination mandated by AZNCIA (Arizona Board of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers).
The Assisted Living Caregiver Program also provides a medication “Bridge” for Certified/Licensed Nursing Assistants. The “Bridge” provides 22 hours of instruction in medication management preparing the CNA/LNA for the Caregiver Certification Examination.
