The Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the surgical technology profession. This two-year program prepares the student to take the national certification examination for Surgical Technology. The Mohave Community College Surgical Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), 25400 US Hwy 19 N Ste 158, Clearwater, FL, 33763, in cooperation with the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for Surgical Technology, 6 West Dry Creek Ste 110, Littleton, CO 80120-8031. Note: The Surgical Technology, AAS, program requirements may differ between universities and the official transfer guide located at AZTransfer. Students are encouraged to consult with an advisor concerning the additional requirements of each university. The Surgical Technology program is located on the Lake Havasu City Campus in Lake Havasu City.

Requirements for Graduation

  • Prerequisite and General Education courses accepted with a “C” or better.  SGT (Surgical Technology) courses require a “B” or better.

  • Prior to enrollment in the program, students must have completed all prerequisites. In order to progress within the Surgical Technology Program and achieve status as a candidate for graduation, the student must achieve a minimum of an 80 percent in all Surgical Technology courses and pass Lab and Clinical Site Competencies.

Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
