Surgical Technology, AAS (SGT.AAS)

The Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the surgical technology profession. This two-year program prepares the student to take the national certification examination for Surgical Technology. The Surgical Technology program is located on the Lake Havasu City Campus in Lake Havasu City.

Requirements for Graduation

• Prerequisite and General Education courses accepted with a “C” or better.  SGT (Surgical Technology) courses require a “B” or better.

• Prior to enrollment in the program, students must have completed all prerequisites. In order to progress within the Surgical Technology Program and achieve status as a candidate for graduation, the student must achieve a minimum of an 80 percent in all Surgical Technology courses and pass Lab and Clinical Site Competencies.
• BIO 181, BIO 201, & BIO 202 accepted for BIO 160. 
• Students receive credit for COM 121 if they took COM 100 or a 3-credit transfer with focus on interpersonal communication. 

Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
