HVAC Technician Certificate (HVTN.CT)

The Certificate in HVAC prepares the student for a career as an HVAC technician. Topics will include diagnosing and repairing issues pertaining to residential and light commercial applications of air conditioning and heating systems. For more information regarding the HVAC Technican Certificate, see the HVAC webpage.

Note:

  • This course is a competency-based program and requires a grade of B or better in each course in order to progress to the next course or set of courses.
  • For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
  • Competency Based Education (CBE) operates under the MCC Student Handbook  and the CBE Student Handbook 

 

Program Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: 

1. Properly use tools and equipment specific to residential HVAC industry. (3,5,6)

2. Diagnose residential HVAC system performance and function. (2,3,5,6)

3. Service assorted HVAC systems found in residential settings. (3,5,6)

4. Professionally communicate with residential customers. (2,3,4,5,6)
