Introduction to Welding Certificate (WIN.CT)

The Introduction to Welding Certificate introduces students to the basic methods and techniques required to work in the welding and fabrication industries. Students will learn shop safety, shop math, shop tools, basic print reading, and multiple process metal cutting. Students choose elective welding courses that are specific to their career interests.  For additional information regarding this certificate, see Welding webpage. 

 

Program Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: 

1.        Apply safety protocols. (2, 3, 6)

2.        Utilize blueprints and shop drawings. (1, 2, 3, 5, 6)

3.        Perform cutting techniques used in the industry. (1, 2, 3, 5, 6)

4.        Differentiate visual criteria from multiple code standards (2, 5, 6)

5.        Utilize Welding Processes IAW industry standards. (1, 2, 3, 5, 6)

6.        Distinguish needs of workforce readiness. (1, 2, 3, 5, 6)

Elective Requirements: 6 credits


Choose two courses (6 credits) from the listed Welding courses.  

Total Credits: 16
