Computer Aided Design Certificate (CADE.CT)

The program is an intensive curriculum that equips students with essential Computer-Aided Design (CAD). It emphasizes proficiency in industry-standard software for creating accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings while covering current standards in dimensioning and documentation. Students explore foundational concepts and the properties of various materials, enhancing their analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Graduates will be prepared to generate professional documents, implement parametric modeling techniques, and effectively document design workflows. Ultimately, students compile a portfolio showcasing their projects and expertise, positioning them for successful careers across diverse industries.    

 

Program Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: 

1. Utilize industry recognized 2D and 3D CAD software. (1, 2, 3, 5, 6)
2. Apply current dimensioning, symbology, and line types to produce professional designs. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
3. Identify various materials and their implications for design. (1, 2, 3, 5, 6)
4. Create designs that meet required specifications.(1, 2, 3, 5, 6)
5. Generate detailed multi-view drawings. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
6. Analyze design requirements and constraints to develop efficient, creative solutions. (1, 2, 3, 5, 6)
7.  Implement parametric modeling techniques to create adaptable and modifiable designs. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
8. Document processes and workflows for industry handover. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
