PCS 021 - PCS - Introduction to Reading and Writing

Prerequisite: Must be at least 16 years of age and not in high school. Multiple measures discussion, or appropriate score on placement exam, or completion of PCS 010 with an ‘S’ or appropriate score on TABE.

Description: This course prepares the student for PCS 033 - GED Preparation and/or complete the college reading requirement and/or complete language arts requirement. Areas of study include ABE levels 1 - 6 reading comprehension and written & verbal communications along with technology and study skills development. Student progress through the course based on a customized education plan that identifies those areas necessary to study.

Notes: Grading is “S” (Satisfactory), “PR”(Progressing), or “U” (Unsatisfactory). All classes require attendance.
