EDU 214 - Cultural Diversity in Education This analytical course explores multiple perspectives and strategies for teaching culturally diverse populations, bringing awareness to the learner by presenting the fundamental knowledge of understanding dynamics, historically, legally, and theoretically. It explores multicultural education theory and practice to promote an understanding of teaching and learning in a pluralistic society, focusing on educational settings and both personal and professional communication. Emphasis on understanding historical narratives and current events and their impact on public school environments for teaching and learning. This course uses research backed knowledge and proven theory to inform and is inclusive, but does not favor or promote one culture over another.
Credits: 3 Prerequisite: ENG 101 w/ a C or higher
