NAP 115 - Nursing Assistant


This course provides students with the theory and skills necessary to provide safe, quality care to clients. This includes physiology, psychological, and basic nursing care needs with a focus on long-term care environments. This course includes American Heart Association (AHA) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Students must pass this in order to remain in the course. Application of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors occur in the nursing skills laboratory, Simulation Center, and various clinical facilities.
Students who are 18 years and older, or will be 18 years old during the course, are required to submit an Arizona DPS card, Pre-Check, a two-step tuberculosis (TB) test, a drug screen, and American Heart Association (AHA) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. This will be taught during this course and students will earn their certification if they pass the CPR assessments.

Prerequisite: Multiple measures discussion, or appropriate score on placement exam, or completion of ABE 021  and ABE 023 .
