ECE 161 - Health, Safety, and Nutrition for the Young Child


This course presents health, safety and nutrition practices to prepare early childhood caregivers in providing for the total growth of young children. This includes nutritional needs, caregiver responsibilities, activities that promote healthy development, illness prevention, a safe environment and community resources for children from birth to age eight.

Credits: 3
Prerequisite: Multiple measures discussion, or appropriate score on placement exam, or completion of ABE 021  and TRE 089  with an ‘S’.
