EDU 295 - Student Teaching and Seminar This experiential course meets the student teaching requirement by the state of Arizona for teacher certification and is part of the post baccalaureate teacher education program for alternative certification pathways. This course requires the candidate to work under supervision of an Arizona certified teacher completing specific tasks aligned to course and program learning outcomes to demonstrate competency in specific areas of teacher education. Topics include: goals and leadership, classroom management, planning instruction and utilizing instructional tools, partnerships and resources, differentiation, assessment and data, and the importance of growth mindset and metacognitive approaches.
This must be taken as the last course in the program’s sequence.
Credits: 8 Prerequisite: Baccalaureate Degree and formal acceptance to a Mohave Community College post-baccalaureate alternative licensure program or permission from Dean of General Education.
