RES 101 - Intro to Respiratory Care and Human Disease

This course focuses on an overview of Respiratory Care, and the anatomy and physiology of the cardiopulmonary system and associated structures. Includes: ventilation and diffusion of pulmonary gases, the circulatory system and transport of respiratory gases, and the control of ventilation for acid base balance. Also includes disease processes and their effects on the cardiopulmonary system and structures.

Prerequisite: Admission to the Respiratory Care Practitioner Program.
Corequisite: RES 102
