DMS 248 - Echocariography as a Profession


This course provides an in-depth overview of echocardiography as a specialized profession within diagnostic medical sonography. Students will explore the roles, responsibilities, and career paths of echocardiographers, with a focus on the ethical, professional, and technical standards required in cardiac imaging. Emphasis is placed on foundational knowledge of cardiac anatomy, terminology, and basic imaging techniques, preparing students to understand the unique demands of the field and laying the groundwork for further specialization and certification in echocardiography
