FYE 100 - Career Pathways and Case Studies in the Arts and Sciences This first-year interdisciplinary course helps students explore how their personal strengths, identities, and interests connect to academic and career pathways in the arts and sciences. Centered around a semester-long case study on a complex real-world issue, the course introduces students to multiple disciplinary perspectives from the sciences and social sciences to the humanities and creative arts to understand how different fields contribute to addressing today’s most pressing challenges. Through this applied case study, students engage in critical inquiry, ethical reasoning, and collaboration while developing foundational academic skills in research, writing, and communication essential for college success and professional growth.
