BIO 305 - Botany A survey of plant biology examining the physical and chemical aspects of plant life. Topics include cellular organization and anatomy, plant physiology, growth and environmental responses, reproduction, heredity, evolution, diversity, and systematics. Explores relationships between plants and human society including agriculture, ethnobotany, medicine, and conservation issues. Examines ecological roles of plants in various ecosystems with emphasis on plants of Arizona. Includes field based and investigative laboratory components emphasizing experimental design and data analysis.
