Paramedic Certificate (EMSC)

Considering a career that is both rewarding and requires your personal best, a career that you will never stop learning from, where you will be charged with saving lives in a variety of emergency situations? If this sounds exciting to you, consider becoming a certified paramedic.

The paramedic is the highest level in pre-hospital medicine, providing advanced level of care and stabilization to the sick and injured. Paramedics are employable in a variety of areas such as fire, ambulance, air, hospital and doctor’s offices.

The paramedic program at Mohave Community College is fully accredited as recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP), and employs knowledgeable, experienced instructors who provide top-notch instruction in a variety of areas of advanced medical care, using a blended learning environment incorporating the cognitive, psychomotor and affective learning domains in order for the student to be employed as a competent, professional entry level provider.

Students who wish to apply to the Paramedic Certificate program must be at least 18 years of age, be a currently certified and working Arizona EMT, and have a minimum of one year active experience in the field. In addition the student must have a current CPR certification from the American Heart Association. In addition to these requirements, the student will be required to pass the comprehensive pretesting process. Note: In order to earn the Paramedic Certificate, students must earn a “B” or higher in all courses. For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” average or greater. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
