Basic Automotive Technology Certificate (ATBC)

The Basic Automotive Technology Certificate prepares the students for employment as automobile service technicians and mechanics. Students will develop specific skills in basic brakes, electrical, engines, steering, and suspension systems. Automotive service repair technicians are employed by automobile dealerships and independent auto repair facilities. Students completing this certificate will be prepared to take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Automobile and Light Truck Certification Tests for brakes, engines, steering and suspension. ASE is a national certification program for automotive repair and service professionals. The Automotive Service Technology Program is located on the Bullhead City Campus in Bullhead City with limited course offerings occurring in Kingman.
Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
