The Advanced Automotive Technology Certificate prepares the students for employment as automobile service technicians. Students will develop specific skills in automatic transmissions and transaxles, brakes, drivetrain and axles, electrical, electronic engine management, emissions, engines, four-wheel drive, fuel, heating and air conditioning, manual transmissions and transaxles, steering, suspension systems. Automotive service repair technicians are employed by automobile dealerships and independent auto repair facilities. Students completing this certificate will be prepared to take all 8 of the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Automobile and Light Truck Certification Tests. ASE is a national certification program for automotive repair and service professionals. The Advanced Certificate also introduces business operations, hybrid and alternative-fueled vehicles. The Automotive Service Technology Program is located on the Bullhead City Campus in Bullhead City.
Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
