The Business - Bookkeeping Certificate program provides students with the skills to work with general ledgers, receivables, payables, payrolls, and accounting systems. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level employment as bookkeepers. After completing this certificate and the requisite work experience, students are encouraged to complete the national exam for a Certified Bookkeeper designation. This certification is sponsored by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). For more information on this exam, visit the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the program students will be able to:
- Perform accounting procedures and practices for an organization. (3, 6)
- Use computer and software technology to perform accounting tasks. (6)
- Perform bookkeeping and make bookkeeping entries for an organization. (2,3)
