Business - Bookkeeping Certificate (BKP.CT)

The Business - Bookkeeping Certificate program provides students with the skills to work with general ledgers, receivables, payables, payrolls, and accounting systems. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level employment as bookkeepers. After completing this certificate and the requisite work experience, students are encouraged to complete the national exam for a Certified Bookkeeper designation. This certification is sponsored by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). For more information on this exam, visit the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution. 

Program Student Learning Outcomes:  
Upon completion of the program students will be able to: 

  1. Perform accounting procedures and practices for an organization. (3, 6)
  2. Use computer and software technology to perform accounting tasks. (6)
  3. Perform bookkeeping and make bookkeeping entries for an organization. (2,3)
