Computer Graphics and Web Design, AAS (CGWD.AAS)

The Associate of Applied Science in Computer Graphics and Web Design prepares students to design and develop web sites and use graphic software for publications and professional digital imaging. While many courses are offered in a traditional classroom setting, this degree may also be obtained by taking all coursework online. Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.

Program Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

Design web sites that include graphics, hyperlinks, and formatted text that are best suited to the defined target audience. (1, 2, 4, 6)
Apply the features of standard application packages, such as digital imaging and desktop publishing software, to produce brochures, catalogs, and web images. (5, 6)
Create a website marketing plan that conforms to legal and ethical established policies. (3, 5)
Evaluate software alternatives when planning a graphic project within the system development framework. (3, 5)
Integrate effective visual and written communication with clients and the intended audience when producing digital publications.(1, 2, 4)
