The Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the surgical technology profession. This program prepares the student to take the national certification examination for Surgical Technology. The Surgical Technology program is located on the Lake Havasu City Campus in Lake Havasu City.
Requirements for Graduation
Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the program students will be able to:
- Practice within the ethical, professional and legal frameworks of surgical technology practice standards. (2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
- Provide safe, efficient environment for patients and O.R. team members. (2, 3, 4, 6)
- Utilize communication and interpersonal relationship skills with patients and other members of the health care team, including instructors. (1, 2, 3, 4)
- Exhibit behavioral awareness and management of stressors, both internal and external. (2, 3, 4)
- Mitigate biological and cultural diversity’s impact on self and others within healthcare field. (1, 3, 4)
- Function cooperatively in a team environment. (1, 2, 3, 4, 6)
- Manage the use of time and other resources to complete tasks and attain goals. (2, 5, 6)

Recommended Program Pathway
