Food Management Certificate (FM.CT)

Mohave College’s Food Management certificate program supports the amazingly rich and varied food and restaurant industry. This certificate addresses budgeting, customer service, food storage sustainability, purchasing, receiving, sanitation and safety. It represents the first step in becoming a restauranteur, food truck operator, kitchen manager, executive chef or food service administrator. This certificates also provides a path into food service management by training in entry-level through intermediate culinary business skills.


Program Student Learning Outcomes:  
Upon completion of the program students will be able to: 

  1. Be proficient in the Restaurant Environment. ( 2,3, 4, 5,6)
  2. Be proficient in Professional communications and business practices. (2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
  3. Generate and utilize computational information to make effective decisions in the culinary industry. (2, 3, 5, 6)

Recommended Program Pathway


NOTE: Courses with an asterik (*) indicates the course is a program requirement. 

First Semester: 16 credits


Second Semester: 11 credits
