The Associate of Arts in Elementary Education provides the foundation coursework for future teachers in elementary education. Students wishing to pursue careers as middle school teachers have two options.  In the first option, a student can complete an Associate of Arts in Elementary and Middle School Teacher Education and then transfer to a university education program to seek elementary certification for grades K-8 and an endorsement in a content area. In the second option, a student can complete an Associate of Arts in Secondary Teacher Education and then transfer to a university to complete certification for grades 7-12 and content courses for a major and/or minor. For more information regarding the AA, Elementary and Middle School Teacher, see the Elementary Education webpage.
