HIS 136 - Western Civilization II


This course is the second part of a survey of the history of Western Civilization, a continuation of Western Civilization I. It covers the period from the sixteenth century through the present day, and includes historical inquiry into topics such as changes in monarchical rule, the Enlightenment, numerous political revolutions, industrialization and its effects, the emergence and influence of various political ideologies and sociocultural movements, world wars, the Cold War, and globalization.

Prerequisite: Multiple measures discussion, or appropriate score on placement exam, or completion of ABE 021  and TRE 089  with an ‘S’
