MEA 131 - Medical Coding II-CPT/HCPCS

This course will equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to assign CPT and HCPCS procedural coding while continuing to utilize ICD coding. Students will learn how to extract information from medical reports to identify the appropriate codes needed for third-party reimbursement in accordance with established guidelines.

Credits: 3
Prerequisite:   and   or BIO 160 OR BIO 201 and BIO 202, MEA 120, and MEA 130 with a C or higher or permission of the Program Director
