PAR 104 - Civil Law and Litigation This course covers the chronology of a civil lawsuit from the initial clients interview through trial preparation and appeals. Students will learn about the various types of pleadings, motions, and disclosure procedures in the State of Arizona and in federal court. This course prepares for the assistance of attorneys in investigating facts, preparing documents, filing a lawsuit, locating and evaluating witnesses, conducting discovery, gathering and organizing evidence, and document control. Students will also learn about alternative dispute resolution, post-trial and appeals, and various ethical considerations in this area of the law.
Credits: 3 Prerequisite: PAR 101 or concurrent enrollment
