Application of legal procedures in bankruptcy. Includes jurisdiction; cast of characters and their roles in bankruptcy; the varieties of bankruptcy chapters, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 12, and Chapter 13; client interview; evaluation of options for clients; drafting the initial documentation; the automatic stay; discharge; conversion; dismissal; voidable transfers; diagramming a Chapter 7 case from beginning to end; drafting a complete Chapter 7 petition; formulating a Chapter 13 plan; discovery
and procedure; and the paralegal’s role in bankruptcy practice.
