DMS 110 - Introduction to Sonography and Patient Care


This introductory course provides students with a comprehensive overview of diagnostic medical sonography. Students will gain knowledge of ultrasound principles, equipment operation, and fundamental imaging techniques. The course is specifically designed to equip students in the Diagnostic Sonography Program with the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver quality patient care in a clinical setting. Emphasizing a patient-centered approach, the course covers professional communication, ethical considerations, and cultural competence within the field of diagnostic sonography.  

Credits: 3
Prerequisite: BIO 160  and admission to Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
