Physical Therapist Assistant, AAS (PTAD)

The Physical Therapist Assistant program is a two-year course of study designed to prepare the student for the PTA licensing exam. Physical therapist assistants work with people of all ages suffering from weakness, stroke, surgery, orthopedic problems, wounds, spinal cord injury, and brain injury to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals. Physical therapist assistants are usually employed in outpatient physical therapy clinics, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities.

All students must apply for admission to PTA program. Students eligible for admission must have an appropriate score on COMPASS exam, or successful completion of TRE 089  and MAT 101  or TRM 091 , a minimum of 2.7 cumulative GPA, and no criminal record. The Physical Therapist Assistant program is located on the Lake Havasu City Campus in Lake Havasu City.

Requirements for Graduation: Passing all Physical Therapist Assistant and General Education courses with a “C” grade or better. Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.

Note: Students selected for PTA program in spring must complete BIO 100  prior to the start of the fall semester (if not already completed).
