As of February 23, 2017, the Nursing - Registered Nursing (RN), AAS (ADN) and Practical Nursing - PN Step-out Certificate (PNSOC) programs of study were updated to include the following statement in Prerequisite Requirements, item number three, “…(one of the 200 level BIO courses may be used to meet the requirements in 2.A above):” The statement was inserted upon discovery of omission, and to align with program modifications approved for an effective start date of the spring semester of the 2015-2016 academic year.

As of February 23, 2017, the Nursing - LPN to RN Track, AAS (PNRND) program of study was updated to include the statement in the Program Prerequisites, after BIO 181, “Note: One of the above 200 level BIO courses may be used to meet the Biology Competency Exam, BIO 100, or BIO 181 requirement.” The statement was inserted upon discovery of omission, and to align with the program modification approved for an effective start date of the spring semester of the 2015-2016 academic year.

As of September 27, 2016, ECE 160 - Early Childhood Development course prerequisite was corrected from “PCS 023 or appropriate placement test scores,” to “PCS 021 or appropriate placement test scores.”

As of September 27, 2016, ECE 161 - Health, Safety, and Nutrition for the Young Child course prerequisite was corrected from “PCS 023 or appropriate score on placement test,” to “PCS 021 or appropriate score on placement test.”

As of June 30, 2016, as a clarifcation of on ongoing practice, the Academic Policies and Student Handbook were updated from the statement, “MCC must comply with court issued subpoenas for student records. Students should be aware that emails sent to or from an MCC email account can be subpoenaed as part of a student’s record,” to “MCC must comply with court orders for student records. Students should be aware that emails sent to or from an MCC email account can be subpoenaed/ordered as part of a student’s record.”
- As of March 10, 2016, the MCC Placement Guide was updated to reflect changes within the following sections: Numerical Math, Algebra, and Trigonometry and Higher Level Math Courses. Changes include MAT 099 now reflecting the new course number of MAT 101 , and MyMathTest.
- As of February 19, 2016, the Student Handbook and Transfer Information Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) sections were updated to include the modified statement, “All courses included in the AGEC block must be completed with a grade of “C” or better in order to transfer.”
- As of February 18, 2016, the the Weapons Policy in the Student Handbook was updated to include “or dangerous chemicals (such as Mace, tear gas, or oleoresin capscicum), but excluding normally available over‐the‐counter, self‐defense chemical repellents.” to align with policy number 4.115 as found in MCC’s Policy and Procedure Manual.
- As of January 20, 2016, the Biology Competency Exam was added to the prerequisite requirements for the Practical Nursing - PN Step-out Certificate (PNSOC) as an alternative to completing BIO 100 - Biology Concepts with Lab or BIO 181 - General Biology I (Majors) with Lab , therefore reducing the total number of degree credits from 57-63, to 53-63. Also, the application requirements section of this program was updated to include completion of Pre-Check background check.
- As of January 5, 2016, the Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct sections of this catalog were updated to reflect Schoology© as the current learning management system, therefore replacing the previous ANGEL Learning System™.

- As of November 23, 2015, the Biology Competency Exam and BIO 181 - General Biology I (Majors) with Lab were included in the program prerequisites for Nursing - LPN to RN Track, AAS (PNRND) as an alternative to completing BIO 100 - Biology Concepts with Lab , therefore reducing the total number of degree credits from 71-72, to 67-72.

Modified Programs
- Baking and Pastry Certificate (CULBC) changed its Total Certificate Credits from 30 credits to 26 credits. CUL 215 was retired and its curriculum content was absorbed into the CUL 216 course.
- Culinary and Hospitality Management Certificate (CHSMC) changed its Total Certificate Credits from 50 credits to 46 credits. CUL 215 was retired and its curriculum content was absorbed into the CUL 216 course.
- Culinary and Hospitality Management, AAS (CHSMD) changed its Total Degree Credits from 65 credits to 61 credits. CUL 215 was retired and its curriculum content was absorbed into the CUL 216 course.
- Cybersecurity and Network Support Certificate (CSNSC) used to be the Systems Support and Security Certificate (SYSSC). The title was changed to accommodate the name change and the outcomes of two key courses, i.e., CIS 156 and CIS 253 in the program.
- Cybersecurity and Network Support, AAS (CSNSD) used to be the Network Support and Information Security, AAS (NSISD). The title has been changed to accommodate the name changes and the outcomes of two key courses, i.e., CIS 156 and CIS 253 in the program.
- Dental Assisting Certificate (DAECC) had a change regarding the radiography and dental materials courses. These courses were taught in both the dental hygiene program and the dental assisting program. The competencies in each course were similar. As such, the courses within the programs were combined. There is now only one dental materials course and only one dental radiography course. All dental programs students will take these courses together. This change prevents students that complete both programs from having to repeat material.
- Dental Hygiene, AAS (DAED) had two changes that were supported by the Dental Programs advisory committee. The first change was the separation of dental hygiene lecture and clinic courses. The second change was associated with the radiography and dental materials courses. These courses were taught in both the dental hygiene program and the dental assisting program. The competencies in each course were similar. As such, the courses within the programs were combined. There is now only one dental materials course and only one dental radiography course. All dental programs students will take these courses together. This change prevents students that complete both programs from having to repeat material.
- Medical Assisting, AAS (MASSD) changed its Total Degree Credits from 64-66 to 61-63 credits. BIO 100 , BIO 201 , and BIO 202 were removed from the program. HES 129 and MEA 205 fulfill the biology component of the program. NUT 203 was added to better prepare the medical assistant for patient care.
- Medical Assisting Insurance Coding Certificate (INSC) removed the CIS 131 course and added MEA 205 course. Students obtain the technology component throughout the program while using the coding software programs included within billing and coding courses.
- Medical Assisting Phlebotomy Certificate (MAPHC) removed CIS 131 from the program. HES 128 and MEA 205 were added into the program. The Total Certificate Credits increased from 19 credits to 22 credits.
- Nursing - Accelerated Nursing for Paramedics, AAS (ANPD) requires MAT 121 or higher-level math course; however, the recommended math is either MAT 142 or MAT 151 for those students who plan on earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Beginning fall 2016, the required math will be MAT 142 or MAT 151 in order to be considered for admittance into the Nursing program.

- Physical Therapist Assistant, AAS (PTAD) has added MAT 101 as a prerequisite option regarding admission eligibility to the program.
- Radiologic Technology, AAS (RADTD) has changed its Total Degree Credits from 84 credits to 80-84 credits since BIO 100 is only needed for students who have not already successfully completed BIO 201 , BIO 202 , or BIO 205 .
