HVAC/R Technician Certificate (HVT.CT)

The HVAC/R Technician Certificate enables the student to enter either the HVAC or refrigeration industry. It focuses on essential foundational knowledge in all aspects of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration, and provides engaging hands-on skill-building activities that help students to identify the components of the different equipment, utilize the tools of the industry, and diagnose problems with the various sytems so that they can enter the field and be a valuable member of the HVAC/R team. Students will also obtain OSHA 10 and EPA certifications as a required componenet of the program. For more information regarding the HVAC/R Technican Certificate, see the HVAC webpage.

Note:

  • This course is a competency-based program and requires a grade of B or better in each course in order to progress to the next course or set of courses.
  • For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
  • Competency Based Education (CBE) operates under the MCC Student Handbook [Inactive] and the CBE Student Handbook.
