BIO 309 - Ecology


This ecology course offers a comprehensive overview of ecological principles, covering both the physical and biological aspects of ecosystems and their conservation. Students will examine the physical environment, including aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, and the ecological genetics behind plant and animal adaptations. Topics include life history patterns, population dynamics, species interactions, community structure, landscape and ecosystem ecology, decomposition, nutrient cycling, and biogeochemical cycles.

Prerequisite: BIO181 (General Biology I), BIO182 (General Biology II), BIO200 (Biological Inquiry: Research Methods and Ethics), MAT211 (Statistics)
