HUS 351 - The Helping Relationship


This course focuses on the foundational principles, skills, and techniques of the helping relationship in human services. Emphasizing a client-centered and culturally responsive approach, students will explore the dynamics of building trust, establishing rapport, and fostering effective communication. Topics include the stages of the helping process, ethical considerations, self-awareness, and the role of empathy in professional practice. This course prepares students for advanced studies in counseling, case management, and trauma-informed care.
