Mohave College’s Patisserie and Baking Certificate program prepares students for a variety of career paths in this highly-desired and specialized field. The Patisserie and Baking Certificate provides students a solid foundational knowledge in the areas of artesian breads, pastries, and specialty desserts that will prepare them for entry- and mid-level jobs. The Culinary Arts program is located on the Bullhead City Campus in Bullhead City.

Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution. 

 

Program Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this program, students will have: 

1. Proficiency of baking tools and bakeshop equipment with an emphasis on occupational safety. (2, 3, 5)

2. Proficiency in bakeshop pantry. (1, 2, 4, 5)

3. Proficiency in principal baking techniques. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

4. Practice in total product sustainability. (1, 3, 4, 5, 6)

5. Proficiency in the bakery environment. (2,3, 4, 5,6)

6. Proficiency in Professional communications and business practices. (2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

7. Generate and utilize computational information to make effective decisions in the baking industry. (2, 3, 5, 6)
