HVAC Installer Certificate (HVIN.CT)

This certificate prepares students for a career in HVAC installation and includes the topics of plan set reading, installing ducting and electrical, the proper procedures for installing split system and package HVAC systems, and system start-up. Note:

  • This course is a competency-based program and requires a grade of B or better in each course in order to progress to the next course or set of courses.
  • For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
  • Competency Based Education (CBE) operates under the MCC Student Handbook  and the CBE Student Handbook .  

 

Program Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: 

1. Estimate and bid an HVAC system installation. (2,3,5,6)

2. Install AC and heating systems including ducting and electrical work. (2,3,5,6)

3. Perform system startup and verify system performance. (2,3,5,6)
