The Pathway to Paramedic consists of courses required within the Paramedic, AAS program and additional coursework to meet an Associate of General Studies degree. Please refer to the Paramedic, AAS (EMS.AAS) degree for program-specific courses.
Note: Bold font indicates courses (or course options) which are required within the Paramedic, AAS program.

General Education Requirements: 25-26
Communications Requirements: 6 Choose 2 courses from the following: Oral Communications Requirement: 3 Choose 1 course from the following: Math Requirement: 3-4 Choose any 100-level or above MAT course Credits: 3-4 Arts & Humanities Requirement: 3 Choose 1 course from the following: Social & Behavioral Sciences Requirement: 3 Complete 1 course (3 credits) from the following: Physical & Biological Sciences Requirement: 4 Complete 1 course (4 credits) from the following prefixes: AST, BIO, CHM, ENV, GHY, or GLG. Credits: 4 Technology Requirement: 3 Complete 1 course from the following: Elective Requirement: 35-37
After consulting with an advisor, choose any 28-30 credits* from the MCC catalog, excluding courses already taken to fulfill the General Education requirements for this pathway. *Credits do not need to transfer to the state universities. Additional requirements for the Paramedic, AAS program that must be fulfilled as electives in this pathway: To fulfill the Anatomy & Physiology requirement, complete 1 option from the following: Opt 1: and Opt 2: Total Pathway Credits: 60-64
