ECE 115 - Intellectual Development

This course focuses on the intellectual development of children 0-8 by investigating theories, trends, and principles of cognitive growth. There will be a focus on activities that strengthen children’s early literacy skills, including, but not limited to: the use of spoken language, listening skills, and increasing vocabulary.

Prerequisite: Multiple measures discussion, or appropriate score on placement exam, or completion of ABE 021 and TRE 089 with an ‘S’ and, as required for CDA certification, experience working in a private or public preschool or a childcare setting.
