ABE 021 - ABE - Introduction to Reading and Writing This course prepares the student for college- and career-readiness and ABE 033 - GED Preparation in reading and writing.This course emphasizes proficiency in reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and the use of standard English conventions in the writing process. Fundamental technology skills are embedded throughout the course. Students are typically placed in ABE 021, who test at ABE levels 1-4 on an adult basic education exam, such as the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE). Students progress through the course based on a customized education plan that identifies those areas necessary for study.
Credits: 3 Prerequisite: Must be at least 16 years of age and not in high school. Multiple measures discussion, or appropriate score on placement exam, or completion of ABE 010 with an ‘S’ or appropriate score on TABE. Corequisite: None Notes: Grading is “S” (Satisfactory), “PR”(Progressing), or “U” (Unsatisfactory). All classes require attendance.
