PHB 202 - Medical Laboratory Assistant Practicum

The Medical Laboratory Assistant Practicum provides supervised clinical experience in an affiliated healthcare or laboratory setting. Under the guidance of qualified professionals, students will apply classroom and laboratory learning to real-world practice. Emphasis is placed on specimen processing, point-of-care testing, quality control, infection control, and professional conduct. Students will demonstrate effective communication, ethical decision-making, and technical proficiency while performing laboratory support duties. This externship reinforces program competencies, preparing students for certification and employment as competent and confident Medical Laboratory Assistants.
