Nursing - Accelerated Nursing for Paramedics, A.A.S.

This program is designed to transition paramedics into a registered nurse career in three semesters beginning with summer sessions. Students must have completed the prerequisite courses described below before acceptance into the program and beginning the summer sessions. Students successfully completing the program will be eligible to take the national licensure examination for registered nurses. The program is approved by the Arizona State Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.  A majority of students will be required to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, for a portion of their clinical experience.  In addition, students may be required to attend mandatory training/orientation at various clinical sites or the Nursing Department laboratory before the official opening of the semester session.  NOTE:  Computer and Internet accessibility and use are required.
 

Admission Requirements

A completed application must be submitted for admission to the Paramedic to RN track of the Nursing Program. An application may be obtained at any MCC campus academic advisor, at the nursing department at the address listed below, or online at www.mohave.edu. The paramedic is required to have current paramedic certification, two years of pre-hospital experience and appropriate Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) scores, achieve a GPA score of 2.85 or above in all nursing prerequisites, and provide a copy of a Department of Public Safety fingerprint card.
