Medical Assisting Insurance Coding Certificate

The Medical Assisting Insurance Coding Certificate program is designed to prepare students for one of two national certification exams: the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam or the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam. Course work applies to the Medical Assistant Certificate as well as the Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting degree. Requirements for Graduation: Passing all Medical Assisting and General Education courses for the certificate with a “C” grade or better. Note: For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
