The Paramedic Certificate program prepares students to render pre-hospital emergency care as ambulance, fire department, search and rescue, and volunteer ambulance personnel. This program trains students to perform a variety of medical services including recognition of and management of patients with heart disease; immediate care to persons with auto accident injuries, burns, poisoning, and alcohol and drug overdose; assistance with emergency childbirth, acute psychiatric disorders, and various other medical emergencies. Note: In order to earn the Paramedic Certificate, students must earn at least a “B” in all courses. For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
